The resin based stained glass process

The resin based process produces beautifully finished panels which can be used in doors, windows, fanlights, skylights and conservatories (or on mirrors etc.). The process can be applied to most types of glass of different thickness with the glass being toughened or laminated where necessary for safety reasons. The panels can be delivered as either single, double or triple glazed units

Our first step is to create the design using a computer based software design tool. The design can either be scanned into the computer from an existing photograph, magazine or drawing, or it can be 'drawn by hand'. Once in the computer the outline is created ready for the file to be transferred.

The finished file is transferred to a computer controlled machine which puts the resin outline (either in black, white, gold, silver or 'clear glass') onto the glass panel

Once this has hardened the colour infill is applied by one of our craftsmen using a pipette which allows the resin to flow across the glass until it reaches the outline resin.

In addition to our standard colour range various effects can be produced including a 'crackled' appearance and mixing and shading of colours. The end result is a beautiful stained glass panel which is hard wearing and guaranteed not to peel, or fade by more than 10%, for a ten year period.
